This is a souvenir postcard celebrating Bastille Day and the end of World War I in 1919, with the French army and Allies gathered around the Arc de Triomphe in Paris. From my research about DIX Paris, the card itself dates from the 1920s. In other words, this card is a re-issue or reproduction, but certainly not your average reproduction. In about another 6 years or so, this 'reproduction' souvenir postcard will be an antique! DIX went for simplicity when it came to the back postcard design: just a few lines to note the address area; no "carte postale" or stamp box! This card has virtually no surface wear. The edges and corner tips show age but overall, it is in incredible condition and well preserved. The card measures 3.5 by 5.25 inches.
