Isn't this incredible? The artistry behind this postcard far outshines the age spots on the fabric or the worn edge. Note the artist's initials at the bottom right corner. This card has a warm golden yellow hue to it which only the passing of decades can bring. Unfortunately, camera nor scan can quite capture the exact colors of this beauty. But once in hand, you won't be disappointed. The French dealer I got my card from said it dates to 1919. I'm guessing this may have been a family heirloom that he knew the personal history of because it doe not bear a written date. The very thought that someone would go to so much trouble to handcraft a one-of-a-kind card! The card measures 3.5 by 5.5 inches. Note that Mary sent it on Saint Nicholas Day (Dec. 6).
