Rare and very beautiful, finely crafted, hand sewn lace dress pieces. When the dress wore out, precious pieces of lace were cut off and saved for other dresses or gowns. Often these bits of lace were passed down through the generations.
There are so many different methods of lace making, I believe these pieces are either French point d'Argentan needle lace on net or Victorian Honiton lace on net. Per the style of the sleeves and the lace insert at the neckline, it is probably late Victorian or Edwardian, 1907-1912. These pieces were probably part of a high fashion silk gown for a small woman.
