Exquisite 1912-1915 black Edwardian evening gown with various shapes of jet black glass beads everywhere! Museum quality!
The bodice is delicate chantilly lace with an overlay of more lace ending in a large beaded border on the bottom front and back. There are three layers to the bottom of this gown - a scalloped beaded lace skirt with a beaded border, over a longer lace skirt with a 4" border of chantilly lace, all lined in black satin. Large 9" faceted jet black glass beaded medallions on each shoulder, bodice, and the front bottom panel. The delicate lace sleeves end with a V point of velvet on the top of the hand and fasten with small black buttons on the inside of the wrist. The bodice, neckline, back and sleeves are bordered with black velvet studded with black faceted beads. There is a long black velvet bow down the right leg from the waist also studded with beads. All the velvet is in excellent condition.
The sparkle from the jet black glass beads is hard to capture with the camera. The beading is intact and I cannot find any holes in the lace - Excellent condition! Larger size: sleeve length 22", bust 36", shoulder to hem 55", shoulder to shoulder 16". Pictures 7 & 8 are the back of the gown.
As with all my vintage clothing items, this beautiful gown is clean and smoke free.
