This fantastic lamp is in excellent condition. This lamp is from my personal collection and a real treasure. It has been gently cleaned and rewired. The candle sleeves were missing and have been replaced with authentic looking, wax covered replacements. The green glass shade and enamel paint is in fine condition. The lamp is 16 inches tall. The finial brings the total height to 17 inches. The shade measures 6 1/2 by 8 1/2 inches. The base is approximately 5 inches in depth.
The metal portion of the lamp base is bronze. The frame to the shade may be brass. The center square pipe where the shade can be raised or lowered is a painted white metal. This is fairly common with these center pipes. The wiring to the lamp is run on the outside and well hidden in the back of the lamp. I am certain this was originally used with candles only and small holes were drilled at a later date. If you wish to change the height of the shade, you will have to shorten the wax sleeves.
The finial came with the lamp, but I am not sure if it is original. It does not fit well and I think the lamp would look better with a larger finial, but I prefer to keep things as I found them. There is a split in the bronze connector as shown in the last photo. This mentioned for accuracy only and has no effect on the strength or stability of the lamp. This likely occurred in the making.
This is a rare, early lamp. I have never seen another and doubt that I ever will. Please email with any questions. Thank you.
