This absolutely gorgeous pendant was created in the 1920's. The condition is remarkable with no damage to the very thick crystal. There is no damage to the design, but I can find a light shadow by the lady's left elbow and a circular area at her feet. There is also a darker shading on the right side of her face, but this is very difficult to see. I can not tell if this is the butterfly wing or the painting creating this difference. Any other light spots are reflection only.
This pendant is marked as shown Sterling Silver Pat #202213. From research, I found this mark is from the Cornwall Jewelry Manufacturing & Gemstone Cutting, 1923. The pendant measures 1 7/8 " long (not including the circular loop or bale) x 1 3/8" wide. The loop and bale are 1/2 inch long. I have not polished the back of this pendant or the surround.
The crinoline lady holding her parasol, is just beautiful. These items were hand painted and composed of blue Morpho butterfly wings. The lady's dress casts different iridescent blues to lavender at different angles.
The last photo shows another pendant along with this one which I am offering as well. Both pendants are being sold separately. This is the largest pendant in my collection and the very largest I have ever seen.
Please email with any questions. Thank you.
