Offered for sale is this absolutely stunning, chocolate pot featuring cascading light and dark, pink tea roses nestled in multicolored foliage - - highlighted with a radiant gold spout and "bow" finial. It stands, from its gilded finial to its round base, an impressive 11.5 inches and while this hand painted, beauty resembles Limoges in both feel and quality, it bears no hallmarks to complete this identification. However, please note, all European porcelain imported into this Country before 1900 was not required to have a hallmark on their wares. A serious collector of hand painted porcelain is aware of this and looks for quality of artwork versus just having to have a hallmark. This exquisite, chocolate pot has been in my private collection for years. What I see and feel regarding this hand painted beauty, makes me think this is a perfect example of antique, French porcelain.
Perfectly paired in the last photograph with a Limoges plaque.
This hand painted, beauty is in sterling condition with no chips, cracks or paint flakes. The only exception being some gold wear where the lid had rub.
