Magnificent Antique Pickard Pitcher Hand Painted Currants Signed by Frederick Walters
Presented is this large, impressive, porcelain pitcher meticulously hand painted and signed by Frederick Walters, whose illustrious career as a china painter with the Chicago based Pickard China Studio, spanned from 1903 to 1918. This particular work-of-of art of his features clusters of bright tangerine, orange currants nestled amongst multicolored, earth-toned foliage. A few stray berries and leaves gently cascade down each side - some reaching the round base that has been decorated with a simple yet elegant, pastel and gold border. A radiant, coin gold accents the scalloped rim, spout, and large, majestic handle. It stands 10.5 inches and reversed is a partial Pickard hallmark used between 1903 and 1905.
This original hand painted and artist signed beauty is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or paint flakes.
