Limoges 7 Piece Tea Set Hand Painted Signed by Stouffer Artist, Buschbeck
Presented is this beautiful, 7 piece, tea set meticulously hand painted and signed by Carl Buschbeck who, during his illustrious, china painting career, also worked for the Pickard Studio. This French porcelain set features a classic, gold poppy and wheat design hand painted on a pure white, backdrop. The set consists of a lidded tea pot, lidded sugar, creamer, candlestick holder, muffineer, plate and charger. With the exception of the charger, Buschbeck has signed each piece with his famous, "Bok." The tea pot stands, from its golden finial to its oval base, 5 inches and from handle to spout is 8.5 inches. The sugar stands 4 inches and from its spout to handle measures 6.25 inches. The creamer is 3" tall by 5.5 inches wide. The candlestick stands 6.5 inches; the muffineer, 4 inches, the plate 8.5 inches and the charger measures an impressive 13 inches in diameter. The lidded sugar, plate and charger bear both a Jean Pouyat (JPL) Limoges, France and Stouffer hallmark #4 used between 1906 and 1914. The muffineer carries no maker's mark however, reversed on the tea pot, creamer and candlestick is a Jean Pouyat Limoges patent hallmark.
This stunning, artist signed American hand painted, antique beauty is, without exception, in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or paint flakes. The only exception would be some desired patina on the charger's gilded design.
