Antique French Limoges Condensed Milk Container
This stunning, French beauty was not placed on the every night family dinner table but rather reserved for an elegant, supper with guests. Meticulously hand painted on a snow white and powder blue backdrop are garlands of pink, winter roses and tiny rosebuds nestled in lush greenery. Highlighting the romantic, floral bouquet is a beautiful, heavy gilded design comprised of swirls, beading, lattice-work and more. Just gorgeous!
Reversed on the pot is a Tressemann & Vogt Limoges hallmark used between 1892 and 1900. While on the bottom of the under plate is a Delinieres & Cie Limoges hallmark used between 1894 and 1900. As you can see, mIxing European porcelain during the height of the Victorian china painting era was quite common. The jar with the lid stands, from the elegant gold finial to the round base, 5.5 inches with the saucer measuring 5.75 inches in diameter.
This antique, French trio is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or paint flakes.
