This stunning and amazing, hand-painted work-of-art is presented for your consideration by French Flamingo. Meticulously hand-painted over a vivid teal backdrop is a raised, gilded floral brocade design; two highly ornate gold and "jeweled" cartouches filled with romantic pink roses and molded into the stately spout is a magnificent, North-wind face. The grand oversized gold handle is also embellished with large turquoise enamel jewels framed with petite gold beads. Victorian floral bouquets filled with ballet pink and deep crimson roses nestled in lush greenery were expertly hand-painted under the gold beaded waistband. This gorgeous chocolate pot measures from its regal gold finial to its round pedestal base, 10.5 inches and reversed is a P.H. Leonard Austria hallmark circa 1891. Leonard was a New York importer well known for importing high-quality Bohemian, Austrian and French Limoges porcelain during the last quarter of the 19th century. His European base was in Limoges, France. Purportedly the firm went bankrupt in the early twentieth century.
This hand-painted and highly embellished antique Austrian beauty is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or paint flakes.
