This lovely, porcelain plate was expertly hand painted and signed by the highly respected artist, Elizabeth Stoner. Stoner who, in the early 1900's, owned a painting studio in St. Paul, Minnesota was a renown china painter, teacher and contributor to the Keramic Studio, a national magazine for china painters and art potters founded by Adelaide Alsop Robinson. This particular work-of-art by Stoner features a stunning, Victorian bouquet filled with deep crimson, tea roses meticulously hand painted on a soft yellow, creamy ecru, and dusky blue, backdrop. It measures 8.5 inches in diameter and reversed is a Haviland Limoges, France hallmark used between 1894 and 1931. Also on the back, are handwritten numbers used by Stoner as references to create matching pieces.
This hand painted and artist signed, French beauty is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or paint flakes.
