Antique French Limoges Plate Hand Painted Tea Roses Signed Aulich
Offered is this stunning, porcelain work-of-art meticulously hand painted by Franz Bertram Aulich's brother, Emil. It features a beautiful, romantic bouquet filled with ballet pink, roses hand painted on a multicolored background consisting of powder blue, chiffon yellow, soft blush and a deep crimson. A gilded lattice and fleur-de-lis design highlights this exquisite floral artwork. It measures 9.5 inches in diameter and reversed are the remains of a Limoges, France hallmark used after 1891.
Without exception, this hand painted and famous, artist signed, antique French beauty is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or paint flakes.

Emil Aulich was born in Berlin, Germany, and when he first immigrated to the United States he with his brother Franz Bertram Aulich started their careers as glass decorators. In 1895, the two of them formed an independent glass decorating studio in Cincinnati, Ohio. Emil during his illustrious career taught china decorating at the famous Osgood School in New York. In 1898, he came to Pickard with a national reputation. He continued working there until 1910, during which time his acclaim grew even greater. Emil is particularly noted for his fine rose paintings which he specialized in.
