French Limoges Ladies Spittoon Cuspidor Hand Painted Violets Signed
Presented is this ladies' spittoon or cuspidor meticulously hand painted by an extraordinarily, talented artist who proudly signed their floral, work-of-art. The French porcelain blank is unique as it has been molded to resemble a high society, lady's cloth purse complete with a cinched waist, ruffled opening and split handle. Expertly hand painted on this rare beauty is a stunning, Victorian bouquet filled with purple, African violets and lush greenery. The scalloped rim and handle have been embellished with a radiant, coin gold. The opening measures 4.5 inches by nearly 5 inches and, from its highest point it stands, 3 inches. Reversed is the artist's signature as well as a Tressemann & Vogt (T&V) Limoges, France hallmark used between 1892 and 1907.
This hand painted and artist signed, antique French beauty is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or paint flakes.
