French Limoges Tray Hand Painted Violets Signed Berger
Stunning, jewel-like heirloom by the late, 19th Century Master china artist, M. Berger. The art deco style, violet motif is highlighted with radiant, coin gold, with the gilding elegantly detailed with a fine ebony, filigree pen work. It is proudly signed on the front by the professional, porcelain artist, BERGER who partnered with his brother Otto around 1900 to form the Zenith Art Decorating Studio in Davenport, Iowa. These gifted brothers were especially well-known for their magnificent 'conventional' art style featuring violets, such as this vintage, porcelain, art treasure. It measures, 4.5 inches by 3 inches and is completely hand painted with a Pickard-like art quality. Reversed is a Gerard, Dufraisseix and Abbot (GDA) Limoges, France hallmark used between 1900 and 1941.
This hand painted and artist signed French beauty is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or paint flakes.
