French Vintage Haviland Limoges France Plate Hand Painted Roses Famous Artist Signed IDA FERRIS
This stunning, European, 8.5 inch porcelain blank, with its scalloped rim, was produced by Haviland & Cie of Limoges, France. Ida Ferris, an award winning china painter and teacher of the fine art of china painting, expertly hand painted the romantic, Victorian bouquet filled with large, scarlet roses and colorful, lush greenery. Ferris, who was a frequent artist and contributing writer for the esteemed, Keramic Studio publications from 1898 through 1915, proudly signed her hand painted masterpiece on the front. Reversed is a Haviland Limoges hallmark used between 1894 and 1931. Also on the back is the number 268 handwritten in black. This beautiful, Ferris work-of-art is a rare find and a must-have for all serious, art collectors.
With the exception of a hint of gold wear, this hand painted and famous artist signed French beauty is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or paint flakes.
