Offered for sale is this magnificent, 19th century French, porcelain bowl exhibiting beautiful artistry both on the interior and exterior. Featured on the interior are shocking pink, cabbage roses intertwined with bouquets of lush grapes meticulously hand painted in bright, vibrant colors. Splashes of a brilliant purple and aqua blue make this exquisite, work of art "pop" while delicate spider webs weaving in and out, add symmetry to the gifted artist's masterpiece. On the exterior, the artist continues the still-life theme with grapes and twisted tendrils hand painted against an aqua blue and soft, ecru backdrop. Two large, highly ornate, radiant gold handles flank both sides of this breathtaking, statement piece. On the front, the extremely talented, artist proudly signed their name and dated their artwork, 1899. Reversed is a Jean Pouyat Limoges, France hallmark.
From one elaborate, golden handle to the other is an impressive 15 inches. The interior of the rim measures 13.5 inches and, from the dramatically scalloped, gilded rim to the round base is 3.5 inches.
This hand painted, artist signed and dated, antique, French beauty is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or paint flakes.
