Nippon Gold Ewer Pitcher Hand Decorated Jewels Moriage
Stunning, Japanese work-of-art featuring a radiant, coin gold backdrop encrusted with hundreds of teal, enamel "jewels". A ornate, lime green, moriage design accents the magnificent handle. On each side, framed by a golden flower accented with colorful, raised beading, are winged Phoenix birds hand decorated in various shades of moriage relief. The front features a smaller flower with a raised blue and pink swirl design. This amazing porcelain ewer stands 7 inches and reversed is a rare, Royal Hinode Nippon hallmark used between 1891 and 1921.
With the exception of some gold wear, a few teal beads worn and a small, manufacture flaw on the rim which I have magnified in a photo for your review, this hand decorated, Japanese beauty is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or paint flakes.
