This is an attractive and one of my favorite patterns produced by Gladding, McBean and Co of California called Franciscan Ivy. This pattern was introduced in 1948 and manufactured until 1984. Throughout the history of this line, several different marks were used. The mark on the back of this platter indicates production in the 1960s. Several years after the initial release, this pattern became famous on the “I Love Lucy” television comedy series which started in 1951. The platter measures 13 1/8” long, 10” wide and sets 1 1/4” off the surface. The platter has no chips, cracks, damage or repairs noted. I will mention very light and few in number scratches on the surface from use. No staining visible, three factory stilt marks are on the backside. I actually have two identical platters and and a divided serving bowl currently in my shop. I have numerous pictures available for your viewing.
