A really nice and somewhat tough to find thin rib midsize vase produced by the Northwood glass company of Wheeling, West Virginia. This vase is classified as the midsize because the base measures 4 3/4” diameter and it has eight ribs originating at the base and terminating at one of 8 tips. The base color is green and it exhibits a decent rainbow iridescence on the outside with a golden interior. The classic Northwood mark, the letter N in a circle, is clearly visible on the bottom. The vase stands 12 1/2” tall at the highest point. Thorough examination I can fine no damage or repairs on this item. A four seam mold was used as the seams are visible especially on the base. With this type of glass produced in the nineteen teens, pieces usually included interior bubbles, straw marks, and tool marks. I noticed some straw marks on the bottom and some interior but unopened bubbles in some of the panels created by the ribs. A wonderful carnival glass vase ready for the top shelf of your collection.
