A great pair of Victorian ear muffs with patent dates of 1875, 1876 and 1888. They feature black thread covered hardware with heavy wire extensions and velvet covered ear pieces on each side. The ear covers fold down and the wire extensions can be pushed in, so these are adjustable and collapsible.
Lettering on the inside reads 'Alaska Kleinert New York Pat Dec 75 Nov 76 APL 88. These measure about 7 inches across when fully extended and each ear cover is 3 1/4 inches in diameter. They don't quite reach my ears when I try them on, so I'll say they're child size in our time. The hardware works very well and the velvet is in excellent condition.
Perfect for an upcoming Victorian Stroll!
