This exquisite doll is a Jumeau EJ, incised on the back of the head with early marks of EJ and size number listed
above the EJ mark. I am able to decipher 0 above the EJ lettering. Small and faint mold line in ear. Beautiful peaches and cream complexion with lightly blushed cheeks, pale pink
colored lips, painted eyebrows and skillfully painted upper and lower lashes. Cocoa colored brown paperweight eyes.
Curly mohair short style skin wig looks to be handpieced. Cork pate. Antique glass earrings. Jointed early body with straight wrists. Typical wear to body, such
as paint loss from some fingers. Some chipped or cracked on other hand. Chip on pinkie on one hand. One hand appears to have a repair to fingers or repaint. Blue Jumeau stamp on back of body.(See my photos) Wear to joints, where the doll was moved in play.
Ivory socks appear to be Jumeau. Her antique leather shoes are stamped Paris Depose with the symbol of the bee.
Shoes have some wear, one has been handled a lot and some of the color has faded. Antique underclothing with original Jumeau factory floral print dress. Antique Bebe pin looks lovely,
but the pin is short and will need to be replaced. She measures 19.5 inches.
This is a very rare model and was produced for a limited time. She would be a fantastic and unique addition to a French doll collection. I have more photos, don't hesitate to email me.
