I have many more photos--please contact me via email and I will email them to you. This is a rare and beautiful Jumeau fashion doll. She dates circa 1874-1879 and is 15" tall. She is truly a treasure, with beautiful blonde mohair curls with original cork pate. One coral antique earring intact. Very pale bisque with painted eyebrows, almond shaped pale blue paperweight eyes, lavishly painted upper and lower lashes. Closed painted lips with a hint of a smile. Rose blushed cheeks. Aqua antique silk challis dress, with a dropwaist style. Two tiers of hand pleated panels are embellished with lace, as are her collar and cuffs.Antique socks with fabulous high button shoes. The buttons on the shoes are a bit fragile, so we did not remove them to check her feet. They are marked J in a cartouche. Kid body with individually shaped fingers. She comes with and antique watch pendant with chain. Original antique clothing is accented with lace. Beautiful kid body with what appears like an old repair or reinforcement with a tiny patch of kid leather near back of stitching in the knee areas. Teeny area at crotch where a few threads have broken and occasionally a small dusting of sawdust will leak. She tends to display with her legs slightly leaning to her right, but she can be maneuvered to stand straight with some manipulation of the legs and doll stand. The back of her head is incised near the base with a number or letter, resembling 9. She is an exquisite fashion doll created as a pre-debutante girl. Very rare; she would be an exciting addition to a French doll collection.
