I have almost 40 photos of this doll, so feel free to contact me for the link to the photo album. This is an outstanding early example of a Georgian III wooden doll, dating circa 1760-1790. She measures an impressive 27" tall. Her elaborate dress, which appears to be original or at least the fabric is contemporary to the doll, has been stitched closed and we were unable to completely undress her. She has been examined with a black light and under 30X magnification and there is No repaint. There is original varnish over the lips. She came from a private collection in England where she was for 40 years and may have been purchased from Heather Bond. Her beautiful face is expertly detailed and colors are still vivid. Period or original human hair wig in a strawberry blonde color. Please examine all my photos, as they are part of the description. Some wear to shoulder plate, mostly to the back where the paint has flaked. Paint wear to each cheek. Typical marks or wear to face and ridge of nose, beautiful rich brown eyes.Slender, long well carved arms and fingers, all appear to be in good order, aside from some scratches to the paint. Paint wear to legs, joints work well. Her pantaloons appear to be a more recent addition. Lovely elaborate tulle lace ruffle accents the straw hat which sits upon her head. An amazing example of an early doll and her large size makes her very striking!

Please note, Ruby Lane's calculated shipping is an estimate and sometimes can be intimidating. Rest assured, I only charge my actual shipping costs and will refund any excess you have paid. USPS shipping rates (both domestic and international) continue to increase. I ship based on size of box (anything over 12" is considered oversized and charged a surcharge by USPS), weight, insurance and priority, first class or express options. I will refund any excess you have paid. I do combine shipping for multiple purchases. Please do not purchase an item to "reserve" it and block if from selling to others while you ponder your purchase. A purchase order is a commitment to buy the item at the price listed and not a pathway to put an item on "hold" .
