A delightful antique ensemble for a small French fashion doll. Condition is lovely. I sell vintage and antique items with a history; oftentimes items may show wear from a former life. I always try to note any serious condition issues. This set includes a skirt with dark ivory and teal colored stripes. It appears to have both hand stitching and machine stitching. Two jackets--one is a solid teal with lace embellishments, the other is striped, as is the skirt. The skirt measures 5~1/2" long, with the waist band somewhat disconnected from the waist, with a hook and eye, to be able to put the skirt on and fit the waist snugly with the waistband. The tops are approximately 3" long with sleeve length of 2~3/4" and 3" long on the solid teal. A lovely ensemble to display in a doll trunk with other clothing items or accessories! My first impression was it was a linen type fabric, but there is a small area where the fabric has shattered or become worn at about the elbow area on one sleeve on the striped top. The solid blue top has a very subtle sheen when turned in the light, so I am making an estimate that is is silk...It is NOT a fine china silk, it does have a course texture to it, but my opinion is it is silk. When the hook and eye are closed in back, the waist measures 2" straight across the front. The solid teal jacket has a small worn hole in back, about shoulder blade area, which is typical of a worn silk. Teal jacket shoulder to shoulder across back is 3" and the other top measures 3~1/4" in the same area. Appropriate very an early china doll, as well.
