Antique Doll ca.1870
A large and beautiful antique parian gentleman with glue glass eyes. Hand painted features such as upper and lower lashes, closed mouth, rose blushed cheeks, molded, painted hair. Excellent modeling, with deep detailing. Faint dark line just above one painted eyebrow looks like a firing flaw. I have a huge magnified photo of his face, so please ask me for that. Lovely detailed shoulderplate with gilding , molded and painted with tie. Some wear to gold gilding. Three sew holes. The three in front have been pinned to body. Original waistcoat is very fragile and melting. He was not undressed. Torso appears to be muslin and arms are kid leather with individually stitched fingers . Legs are very firmly stuffed. Legs do not bend at knees and have limited mobility at hips. He should be displayed standing. Costume appears to be original Wool coat and slacks. Antique socks and handmade shoes. He stands 22" tall. Possibly Kling or Simon and Halbig. I sell vintage and antique items with a history; oftentimes items may show wear from a former life. I always try to note any serious condition issues. Layaway is available. A 20% non refundable deposit will secure the item and we will work with you regarding the length of the layaway. Shipping is an estimate. I only charge actual shipping costs plus a minimal charge for my boxes, packing materials, etc used to ship your purchase. I will refund any excess you have paid once your item is ready to ship. Shipping cost is based on USPS Priority shipping, weight of box, and size of box. I can get a fairly decent discount on INSURANCE fees, if shipped REGISTERED, which is not an option in Ruby Lane calculated shipping. Unfortunately shipping rates continue to climb and anything over 12" is considered oversized and is charged a surcharge....I don't make money on shipping.
