Beautiful & Rare set of Six 19th Century Heavy Hand'Blown 'Absinthe' Glasses from France.
Each glass in the handsome set of 6 has 8 unusual cut-glass concave 'roundels' . I have bought many sets of absinthe glasses in the past but never a set of 6 like these.
Absinthe, as the drink of the poor in late 19th century France, had such a destructive social and medical effect that it was made illegal at the beginnning of the 20th century.
Each Glass stands 5 and a half inches tall. Made in France circa 1880-1900. All in excellent condition.
