Fabulous collection of Eight 19th Century Wooden Puppet Heads , made in Germany or Holland. The 8 heads are exquisitely carved in Boxwood and are in their original paint. With a couple of chips out of the necks, the heads were probably made for either marionettes or glove puppets. This is not my speciality so any other historical information would be gratefully received.
The Puppet Heads are now set on to purpose made metal stands to display them- the stands are removeable.
Meauring 5 inches high each , or 12-13 inches on the stand. Circa 1840-1880. German or Dutch in origin. In good condition , though with chips on 3 of the necks.
