Very Beautiful Original Pub Mirror panel from England with exceptional acid-etched, brilliant cut and gilded decorations and rare 'thumb-nail' bevelled border.
The mirror which was a rare find, is typical of the very finest Victorian pub decoration in London Pubs like the 'Salisbury Arms' in St..Martins Lane
or the 'Princess Louise' in High Holborn.
This is only the second time I have come across the thumbnail border decoration which was very difficult to achieve and a rare example of the beveller's craft..
The mirror is set into a high quality bespoke wooden frame , recently re-backed (see hanging instructions)
Measures 36 inches x 21 wide. In excellent condition with a little spotting and fading from its age. Circa 1875-1890. Made in London, England.
