Rare example of an Angling shop Sign, -a hanging metal Fish - made to hang outside the shop front to advertise Allcock's Fishing Reels and Tackle . In good condition though the lettering has worn off , the fish hangs from its metal wall bracket. S. Allcock of Redditch was the most famous maker of fishing rods and reels in England going back to 1803. It was bought by American company Noris Shakespeare in the 1960's. Second to bottom photo shows a similar Allcock's sign in pristine condition with cat to show scale ! Bottom photo of Polycarp Allsopp the company's founder with history. Fishing Quotes are famous- Antique hunters are a lot like fishermen too !

Circa 1925-1950 Sign measures 44 inches in length x 28 high (to top of wall bracket)
