Original 'Double Ball' glass Seltzer or Soda Siphons from Paris. The two siphons, one slightly taller than the other , were made by the Lefevre company in 19th century Paris ,and have the maker's name and model name 'Seltzogene' engraved on the Pewter neck (see photo)The origin of the protective wire jacket was in case the siphon exploded from being shaken too much - an unlikely event but a precaution from being available on every bar counter !
.
The heavy hand-blown glass siphons with their wire mesh jackets are both in perfect condition and are still usable . (The bottom photo shows another siphon without its wire jacket - I actually have one like this, if interested please enquire on the site.)
