Traditional Roof Spire from France surmounted with a moveable pointing flag Pennant. Well made in tinplate with a zinc base by a local artisan, the Vane or Spire (known as 'Girouette' in France) has 4 shaped tin flowers attached to metal rods fixed to the central standard and intended to be set as primary compass points.

Measures 40 inches high. In good used condition. Circa 1910-1930
