Vintage 'Tolework' Advertising Clock from France for 'Chocolat Revillon'. Made as a point-of-sale advertisement, it was traditionally found in shops and cafés all over France from the 1920s to the 1950s.. The wavy outer shape, known as 'oeil de boeuf' (bullseye) mimics traditional French wall clocks of the 19th century. This is a particularly good example -in excellent condition with a minimum of wear. - a very sought after and collectible piece from the recent past.
The clock has its original original brass wind-up pendulum movement . Measures 23 inches high x 17 wide.
(If you get fed up with having to wind the clock every few days, the old movement can be simply replaced with a modern battery quartz movement buyable on line for a few dollars- and a packet of 'hand collets' to convert the old hands on to the spindle of the new movement.)
