Collection of 14 original vintage-era Hatmakers's or Milliner's carved wooden blocks from southern France. The collection includes both mens' and womens' hats from between the early '30s and mid-'50s, with original makers or milliners' marks on the undersides. Each block has been individually cleaned, then varnished and waxed to create its best visual effect. Although they can still be used to create hats , berets and bonnets, alternately they can simply be decoratively set up to make an inspiring display of sculptural objects.
PRICE IS FOR ONE HATBLOCK . Price for the collection on application. Beautiful original Milliners's blocks are very much in vogue at the moment. At a recent auction sale at Christies in London in July 2015 another set of 15 hatblocks belonging to me, from the same original collection, sold for $800 each. (see bottom photo) The remainder of the blocks I have in stock are being offered here on Ruby Lane .
