Printed in Paris post World War II( circa 1948) based on original drawings by J.Anscombre for the 'Maison des Instituteurs', this interesting set of 16 images was set on 8 separate double-sided posters , and supplied to schools with a special wooden door-opening frame which holds all the posters and allows them to be interchanged before being displayed.
The subject is human anatomy , and the posters are beautifully printed and depict every aspect of the human body for teaching French pupils during the immediate post-war period., and before the age of plastics and computers.
The Frame measures 36 inches high x 24 wide., and has 4 metal clips located one on each of the sides which lock the door shut, thus holding all 8 posters safely inside.
