A highly interesting and beautiful item: A collage of prehistoric (Neolithic or Mesolithic) flint spear or arrowheads intricately fixed by tiny wires on to a backboard in the form of a single giant arrowhead. With original handwritten label-' Points de fleches (arrowheads) - Seine et Oise' probably denoting the French department where they were originally found- Circa 1890-1910 this unusual collage - made originally to be hung in a museum,- consists of 98 smaller arrowheads each having a tiny numbered label, and two much larger examples- therefore more likely to have been made as spearheads- set on either side of the giant arrowhead display. In nice condition and measuring 36 inches high x 22 wide
Prehistoric arrowheads of this type normally sell for around $45-$55 each in the US or £25- £30 each in the UK. (There are 100 arrowheads in this collection)
