Café 'Linenfold' Mirror from France
A blend of restored original gilding with fashionably 'faded elegant' look silvering is given by this very attractive French 19th century Wall- Mirror, which came from an old café.
When found, the linenfold style frame with its decorative floral corners had been overpainted and subsequent restoration has revealed the original burnished gold toned with red bole and polychrome underlay.
Measures 37 inches x 28 The Frame in excellent condition. The silvering is slightly marked and faded, giving a very fashionable look, but an option if desired, is to replace the existing mirror glass with a new one giving a perfect image. Please enquire on the site.
From France. Circa 1890-1910
