What a lovely enhancement to a lady’s desk and a perfect gift for Valentine’s Day!
This double heart shaped pen tray was made with quadruple silver plate by the Hartford Silver Company in Hartford Connecticut between 1881 and 1893. It is model #2357 and measures 7 5/8” x 4”. Its art nouveau styling features floral bordered heart trays for ink bottles or accessories with naturalistic twigs to hold one’s pen.
The tray is in good condition. There is some pitting and tarnish and some scratches but this romantic piece would still be a charming addition to one’s writing space.
