Enamel Studio Steinböck was founded in the early 1950’s by brothers Hannes & Haimo Steinböck from Carinthia, Austria. Both young men were students at the Academy of Art in Vienna. They began producing decorative articles of colorful enamelware that had not been seen before – jewelry and trinket boxes, plates, and vases as well as special orders. The studio became world famous and was supposedly a secret tip in many tourist guides. Some of Vienna’s famous artists such as Ernst Fuchs and Hans Staudacher worked at the studio and experimented with the enamel materials.

This charming heart shaped enamel over copper dish measures 4 1/8” x 4 ¼” x 13/16”. It features a folk flowers horse surrounded by fantasy flower blossoms in the center with a decorative border in colors of royal blue, green and gold. It is marked “Steinbock-Email (Enamel) – Handmade in Austria” on the bottom.

The dish is in very nice, clean condition with no chips to the enamel. Please examine the photos and feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
