Here is a lovely English embossed paper lace valentine that dates to the 1850’s.

The valentine is a paper folder that measures 3 ¾” x 5 ½”. It is unmarked but is similar to valentines produced by W.J. Meek in the 1840’s and 1850’s. The cover is decorated with a silver Dresden dove and an aster flower fairy die cut pasted on paper leaves. The center has been cut out and replaced with netting. Through it is visible a die cut image of a fairy child among roses which is pasted on the inside.

The valentine is in excellent condition and would make a very nice addition to one’s collection. Please examine the photos and feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

While you are here, do enjoy the other valentines I have available at this time. Thank you for visiting my shop today.
