From a New Hampshire family collection of early sewing tools comes this elegant silver needle case. Judging from the two tiny metal loops at the top, I’m guessing it was attached to a chatelaine or worn around the neck with a very thin chain.

The cylindrical needle case measures ½” x 2”x 1/8”. It is made of silver, with simple lines and no decoration. It has a swivel piece on top that exposes two tiny holes in the lid of the case when it is turned. The holes are the right size for needles to be inserted. Unfortunately, the lid is stuck now so getting the needles out will be tricky.

The case is a bit tarnished but there are no scratches. There is a small dent under the lid where thumbs have attempted to open the case. Please examine the photos and feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
