One of the very early Lenci miniatures, pictured in the 1930 catalog with her cat on her hat, is this sweet little blondie with a large brimmed pink felt and organdy hat tied with a pale blue felt bow. Her cat and tag are gone but she is the rarely found #3006.
This little girl is 8” tall. She has a swivel head, muslin torso, jointed stiff cotton legs and felt arms with shoulder jointing. Like other early miniatures, her hair is rooted mohair, in this case with attached side curls and she has the light brown ultra (almost bulging!) side- glancing eyes.
She wears a pink organdy dress with puff sleeves, a Peter Pan collar and felt edged scalloped ruffles. The dress has its two original buttons in back. Her underskirt and pantalets are also organdy with a single ruffle. On her feet are pink felt slippers with pink ties over rick-rack edge cotton socks.
Condition: This little girl does not look 90 but she has some age related issues. Her pantelet organdy and cotton socks have darkened. Her blue bow has faded. There is a small split on the seam of her right shoe. Her right arm and hand have some discoloration. Nevertheless and eventhough she is missing her cat, this little sweetie is a delightful early Lenci miniature to add to your collection. Please examine the photos and feel free to email me if you have any questions.
