Since his origins in the 17th century commedia dell-arte, the sad clown figure of Pierrot pining for love of Columbine has captured the heart of Europe. I was delighted to find him in a Paris flea market and am happy to list him in time for Carnival.
Pierrot is 6 inches tall. His head (which swivels), hands and feet are painted bisque. His body is a wooden block dressed in muslin to which are attached his muslin arms and legs. A metal hanging wire is attached to his cap.
Pierrot is in very good condition. Though his muslin has aged and he’s lost some of the painted hair on the back of his head, he wiggles and dances like new and will hang beautifully from your tree. Please examine the pictures and don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
