$48.00 This superb bead necklace dates from the Art Deco period,and is very long.. at 48". It has no clasp. There are free form Millefiori beads and small round solid beads with gold tone chain.. The beads are from the mid 19th to the early 20th century. They are a type of millefiori bead that is traditionally made in Italy where several colors of glass are fused on to another, in a two step process resulting in beautiful and unique patterns. Absolutely wonderful vivid Chinese red. Perfect for winter or summer, dress-up or casual. Excellent condition.
Venetian millefiori beads were made in the beginning in the 16th century. They were imported to African in the late 1800’s. The designs are unique and beautiful as are the colors. Millefiori glass beads have been made since the Ancient Roman times and involves fusing many pieces of colored glass to create the design. The term “millefiori” is a combination of two Italian words for a thousand flowers.
