Hand Painted Floral Victorian Porcelain Brooch Pin
$48.00 Hand painted porcelain pins or brooches were most popular from about 1890 - 1910. This lovely example has delicately shaded violets on a pale yellow background with brown shading. The pin measures 1-3/4" long by 1-3/8" across. It has a brass backing and old fashioned C-clasp. Victorian porcelain pins were often chosen according to the "language of flowers". Violets represented both modesty and fidelity. This is an extraordinary piece with normal age wear to the gilded back. There are no chips to the porcelain edges. Pin is in excellent antique condition. Circa 1900.
