Vintage Gaspeite Sterling Silver East West Ring
This unique ring features a vibrant and lively green color oval cabochon of gaspeite. Another East to West ring. The face of the ring is 1" across ( E to W) and 5/8" (N to S). The stone is 10 mm by 13 mm. It is SIZE 7 (a loose fit, hard to measure because of design, the bottom is flat)...I wear a 7 and it fits me perfectly. Sterling Silver, Acid tested. This ring has unusual shanks, that look like a hinge but it is not. Great vintage condition..
Gaspeite is a rare mineral named for the location it was first discovered, in the Gaspe Peninsula of Quebec Canada. Gaspeite is considered a rare mineral, being found in only a few localities. Gaspeite is found as a secondary mineral around nickel sulfide deposits. Gaspeite is an uncommon green and brown stone that has been found in only two locations in the world.
The West Australian stone has been used by the local Aboriginal people since deep in the past, in the Dreamtime, to help them to experience visions.
