A charming antique Belle Epoque era French sterling silver mustard pot with cobalt blue liner. Featuring a reticulated sterling framework decorated with stylized acanthus and arabesques. The lid decorated with engraved details and topped with a finial. Finished with an elegant scrolling handle. Resting on four decorative feet. In overall good antique condition with general wear commensurate with age and use. No chips or cracks to the beautiful cobalt blue glass liner. Measures 4" height x 4" width including the handle. Silver weight is 80 grams. Bearing French hallmarks, slightly rubbed. Including the French Minerve 1st standard mark. In use from 1838, the mark indicates a silver content of .950/1000 (95% silver and a higher grade than the standard .925 for sterling). Maker's mark for MASSAT Frères or ‘Maître Orfèvre’, Paul & Eugène MASSAT, active from 1885 at 15 rue Crussol in Paris.
