Antique Belle Epoque era French sterling silver napkin ring. Richly decorated in fine repousse with neoclassical Empire style elements. Featuring a pair of majestic swans with wings outspread, linked by a ribbon swag and garland of flowers. Flanking a shield cartouche with lovely fleur-de-lys finial. Hand engraved with a monogram of initials LR in lovely scrip. Further decorated with ornate scrolling foliage and floral medallions. Enhanced with gold vermeil finish to the interior. Hallmarked with the French Minerva 1 standard hallmark, depicting the profile of the goddess Minerva with a number 1 beside her designating a silver content of .950/1000 (95% pure silver and higher than the standard .925 for sterling silver). Also bearing maker's mark for Parisian silversmith Victor Demare, active circa 1892 at 119 rue du Temple, Paris. The napkin ring measures 1 1/2" tall x 2" diameter. Weighs 34.8 grams. In overall good antique condition.
