Outstanding antique Belle Epoque era French .800 silver umbrella parasol handle or dress cane handle. The handle features an elegant egg and dart motif. Marked with the French head of the wild boar, in use from 1838 to indicate a silver content of .800/1000. Bearing a maker's mark for Parisian silversmith Gaston Bardiés, active 1897-1914, who commenced trade at 13 rue des Fontaines, Paris. In overall good antique condition and finely housed in the original presentation box together with eight parasol spoke tips. The handle measures 1 5/8" tall x 7/8" diameter at the top. The presentation box showing wear commensurate with age, measures 3 1/8" x 3 1/2" x 2 3/4"
