Exquisite antique Belle Epoque era French sterling silver and cut glass 6 piece vanity, dresser toilette set. Comprising of three perfume or cologne bottles and a trio of jars or boxes. Each of stunning quality crystal decorated with wheel cut fluting and a 16-point starburst to the base. The lids are crafted from the highest quality French sterling silver, solid with a good gauge of thickness. Decorated with intricate engine-turned guilloche engraving and centered by a circular cartouche monogrammed with initials CL. Each bottle retains their glass stoppers. Overall a beautiful set of elegant Art Deco styling. The sterling lids and threaded collars on the bottles are all hallmarked with the French Minerve 1st standard mark used from 1838 to 1919, which depicts the goddess Minerva with a number 1 beside her to denote a silver content of 950/1000 (of 95% pure silver and a higher finesse than .925 sterling). Also bearing a silversmith's mark, though difficult to decipher. Please see pictures for measurements. The set is in good condition. There is a small nibble or two hidden among the cut fluting, one bottle having a nibble to the bottom corner, nothing too noticeable. There is some fogginess or residue inside the bottles and to one jar, likely from the perfume and powder. The lids having some scratches and a dimple or two possible, all commensurate with age and use.
